Scarab Gemstone Pendant
Scarab Beetles were popular amulets in Ancient Egypt. According to ancient Egyptian myths Ra, the Sun God travels across the sky every day, transforming bodies and souls. The scarab, or dung beetle, rolls dirt into a ball for laying eggs and supplying them food. They are later transformed into larva, and this was seen as an earthly symbol of this heavenly cycle... rebirth of life. They were used as amulets, talismans, and gifts of affection.
Now offered holding a variety of crystal points as well as an ancient fossil called an orthocerus, a type of nautilus that had a straight shell.
